Siemens control: Sinumerik 840D, G-codes and cycles
Siemens Sinumerik 840D and 840D sl references: G commands by group, M functions and the standard drilling, milling and turning cycles.
Siemens builds the Sinumerik CNC controls, which are used by many European machine tool builders. The 840D and its successor 840D sl are the high-end models of the range and run on milling, turning, grinding and multitasking machines.
The Sinumerik language goes beyond DIN 66025 G-code. Many functions are written as keywords (TRANS, ROT, CYCLE81), machining cycles are called like subprograms with a parameter list, and programs can use variables, loops and string handling. An ISO dialect mode accepts Fanuc-style programs. The pages in this section cover the Sinumerik mode.
G-codes
Sinumerik 840D and 840D sl G commands sorted by G group: motion, planes, offsets, frames, feed types, continuous-path mode and the keyword commands that share the groups.
M-codes
Sinumerik 840D and 840D sl M functions: the predefined M codes, spindle numbers as address extension, block rules, output timing and machine-builder M functions.
Cycles
Sinumerik 840D standard cycles with parameter lists: CYCLE81 to CYCLE89, MCALL with HOLES1/HOLES2, pockets, face milling, CYCLE800, CYCLE832, CYCLE95 and CYCLE97.
